Job Title: Head of Export Development (UK)

Reporting to: Commercial Director
As Head of Export Development you will be responsible for building Optare’s sales in new territories & selected existing territories worldwide.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with internal stakeholders to define priority development markets.
Leverage relationships with the wider group to develop local opportunities and distribution where relevant
To take responsibility for the completion of tenders in priority markets.
Work with engineering & aftersales in developing bespoke international solutions
Leverage existing international product offerings in new markets
Work with established European distribution to grow sales.
Act as a spokesperson for the business at international sales events and conferences
ESSENTIAL /DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS INCLUDING REQUIRED QUALIFCATIONS
Proven international track record in high value B2B business development and, or key account management leadership within the capital equipment, heavy plant industry or similar industries.
Ability to drive sales growth and achieve agreed targets (set, plan, monitor and review)
Strong account management capability
A self reliant, self starter comfortable with extended overseas travel in development markets.
Strong cultural awareness.
Works effectively within a team and has the capacity to influence cross functionally
Excellent communication skills; verbal, written reports and presentations
Excellent computer skills incl. Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, excel, word).
Full car driving licence & passport.
Degree educated (or equivalent) in a commercial or technical discipline.
Direct experience of the UK bus industry via the supply chain or direct with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) an advantage.
Customer focused. Have a proactive attitude to resolve customer issues and complete actions
Diplomatic with gravitas to match the role.
Focused on high quality output and attention to detail.
