Job Title: Quality Engineer
Reporting To: Production Quality Manager
Support and deputise for the Production Quality Manager in the management and delivery of production and Supplier Quality. To evaluate the quality assurance of processes and products and to recommend the revision and introduction of specifications when identified.
To formulate or support internally and suppliers in the development of existing quality assurance policies and procedures and deliver training on quality assurance and tools.
Is a key communicator and interface across all functions (Design Engineering, Production Engineering, Stores and Productions) and with customers and suppliers on quality related issues.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Identify process improvements to the production lines and support in the provision of solutions and methodology for delivery.
Plan, organise and chair improvement meetings.
Investigate non-conformances and implement Correction, Corrective and Detection measures.
Carry out, administer and report Systems and Process Audits.
Work partnership with production Engineering, production and Design Engineering to create and implement Standard Operating and Inspection Procedures.
Provide support to members of the Quality and Production team for the inspection of Vehicles if/ when required.
Delivers and supports training requirements on Quality internally.
Provide support for the inspection of goods received if/ when required.
Identify and lead in the development of the supply chain.
Assist Suppliers with the Investigation of non-conformances and implement Correction, Corrective and Detection measures.
Audit and approve new and existing suppliers.
ESSENTIAL/DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS INCLUDING REQUIRED QUALIFCATIONS
Experience of working in a similar position in a production or assembly facility producing complex machines or assemblies.
Quality Engineering education.
Qualified internal auditor (ISO9001/ TS16949)
Ability to work efficiently and build effective working relationships.
Positive thinking behaviour and is willing to “Go the extra mile” in-order to drive the Quality agenda.
Core Tools (AIAG) and Root Cause Analysis Utilisation (8D, A3, IsIsnot, Ishikawa, 5why)
I.T. Literate (Microsoft office – email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to communicate at all levels.
Implementing change culture.
CAD experience / knowledge of Solidworks and or Sage Line 1000.
