From the very beginning, our revolutionary CityPacer
and StarRider models both won Bus of the Year
Awards when they were introduced in the late-1980s.
Their development led the way in the move from
the traditional "box on wheels" concept of British
buses to a more sophisticated passenger transport
vehicle – and established Optare as a true vehicle
design pioneer.
This was further recognised in the year 2000
when the Solo won the Millennium Products Award
and the Queen's Award for Innovation, the first
time that such prestigious accolades have ever
been given to a bus manufacturer.
Our latest product introduction the Versa,
was hailed as star of the show when unveiled
at the Eurobus Expo in Birmingham. Stunning
exterior styling and enhanced passenger environment
and comfort will be key to attracting increased
ridership for our customers.
The Optare Group now employs 550 people across
all divisions and has an annual turnover of
around £60m. |
