Optare unveiled the next generation Metrodecker and Metrocity all electric buses at Euro Bus Expo 2018. Both buses have fully electric heating and can a deliver more than 150 miles on a single charge. The Metrodecker next generation EV carries more than 94 passengers with an unladen weight of just over 11T and a GVW of only 18T. Yeomans of Hereford have recently taken delivery of three new Solos. The family run coach company has been serving Hereford & it's County since the 1920's.
9.2m Solos seat over 30 and two of the three are fitted with seatbelts. The new Solo purchases are part of a fleet upgrade programme and will serve routes around Hereford. Last year Yeomans also purchased four new Solos as part of this upgrade programme.Read More

Australian and New Zealand distributor for Optare buses, Bus Corp Oceania (BCO) and Bus and Coach Sales Australasia (BCSA) have announced a link up that will deliver increased sales and service reach for Optare in Australia.

Recent successes for Optare include a £21m order for 114 Metrocity buses for New Zealand and a £17m order for 94 Solo buses for Dubai. Two bespoke Solo buses serving hospital routes in Hong Kong in 2017 with orders expected to follow. This week, the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, announced the creation of the largest double-decker electric bus fleet in Europe, with 68 new electric double-deckers set to join the bus fleet in London. Mr Khan revealed that the number of electric double-deck buses in London will increase more than tenfold, and that two routes run by Metroline from Barnet to central London will be exclusively operated by electric double-decker buses. Optare will supply 31 all-electric double deck buses for TFL Route 134 running from North Finchley bus station to Tottenham Court Road to start operation next summer.Read More
Optare have confirmed their first ever order for their Metrodecker Euro 6 double decker bus. The order from Reading Buses for five vehicles to operate on the Green Line 702 route between London and Windsor is due for delivery in June 2019 ahead of the London Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ) coming into operation. ULEZ will require all vehicles operating into Central London to meet the stringent Euro 6 engine emission standards.Read More
